About this event
Dentures get a bad reputation in dentistry. Quite a few dentists even brag about how long it has been since they have done a denture. Dr. Schafer wants to reverse this trend by training dentists how to feel confident to do dentures in their office predictably. This course is limited to six dentists maximum as it is taught in his office and that is all he can fit.
2 Day Course Objectives
- Clinical techniques to fabricate great dentures efficiently
- Learn how to effectively design digital dentures (and other dental stuff) using Blue Sky Bio software
- Work with your patients to get the best possible rehabilitation of their mouth.
Requirements: Laptop that can run BlueSkyBio software.

This program one day of lecture and one day self-participation, designated for 14 hours of CE credit by BlueSkyBio.AGD Codes: 670 (7 hours lecture and 7 hours hands on). You can sign up for either one day or both days.
Dr. Russell Schafer, DDS
Dr. Russell Schafer is a general dentist who practices in New Orleans, LA and focuses on removable prosthodontics. He is the owner and dentist at NOLA Dentures and General Dentistry and has fix quite a few mouths using removable dentures. He has a love of the subject and enjoys teaching fellow dentists about dentures. Dr. Schafer also enjoys doing digital design and printing and is fluent with Blue Sky Bio, meshmixer, and many other CAD programs. Also Dr. Schafer currently owns four 3D printers: Ackuretta Sol, Ackuretta Dentiq, NextDent 5100, and a Prusa i3.
Dr. Schafer is a native New Orleanian and is an engineer turned dentist. He got his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University in 2007 and his Masters of Mechanical Engineering from Rice in 2008. He worked in the petroleum industry before going onto dental school. He is a graduate of LSU Dental School 2013. He and his wife, Alison, a house with a Doberman named Lucas and a cat named Charming.
